Shabir Hussain’s 65 helps UCC to clinch Champions Trophy title

Budgam, November 13: United Cricket Club Chattergam defeated Al-Sehar Cricket Club by 56 runs in the final match of Champions Trophy in Chattergam here on Sunday.

Earlier, UCC won the toss and opted to bat first. In its first innings, UC set the target of 185 runs, in which Shabir Hussain alias Buddy scored 65 runs. From the bowling side, Wasim Khan took 4 wickets and gave 30 runs.

In reply, Al-Sehar Club failed to chase the target and bundled at just 129 runs. Zahoor Hussain scored 32 runs. Front be winning side, Zahid took 3 wickets. Thus, UCC cliched the Champions Trophy title.

At the ceremony, Shabir Hussain was declared player of the Match by scoring 65 runs from 42 balls while Danish was named as the Man of the Tournament who also received a cash prize of Rs 2000.

The winning team got a huge trophy and a cash prize of Rs 14,000 and the Runners up got a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 7000. On the occasion, invited guests include Fayaz Hussain, Mohd Ashraf, Gh. Hussain, Mukhtar Hussain, Khan Raja and others handed over trophies to the players of both teams.
