Karnataka continued their rise in domestic cricket, notching a 43 run victory over J&K at Alur Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru, on Sunday.
Chasing a modest target of 151, JK Lost wickets at regular Intervals and were bundled on 107 runs. Ab Samad was the top scorer with 30 runs and Shubham Pundir scored 20 runs. The other batsmen were dismissed cheaply. For Karnataka Suchithh took 3 wickets while Gowtham and Mithun took two wickets each.
Earlier, J&K Skipper Pervaiz Rasool won the toss and decided to field first. One of the recently concluded IPL top performers Davidut Padikal and Karun Nair open the innings for Karnataka as both the openers put 37 runs for the opening wicket. Devdutt Padikal was the first batsman dismissed by Skipper Pervaiz. Karun Nair 27, Shrijith 48, and Anirudha 29 were the top scorers for them. Pervaiz Rasool and Auqib Nabi took 2 wickets each for J&K and Aabid Mushtaq took one wicket. With this win, Karnataka earns 4 Points J&K will play their 2nd match against Tripura at the same venue on Tuesday.
